Single or occasional measurement of river temperature
You can contribute to the RivTemp database by taking temperature measurements in rivers. To do so here are some guidelines for choosing the measurement site in the river:
- Site where the water circulates (avoid water stagnation areas along the shoreline or near vegetation and deep areas)
- Site NOT influenced by tide
- Avoid taking the measurement directly at the confluence of a tributary, choose a downstream or upstream site.
If you are an occasional contributor, you can add your measurements using the form available on the following link: Enter your data
If you are a regular contributor, you can use the same form as the one for occasional contributor or fill out the excel file: Form_RegularCollaborator and send it to us by email at the end of the summer. If you have previous years of temperature data and want to share, please contact us by email: info@rivtemp.ca.
